Jama Finney
I'm a writer who photographs. Before the camera comes up, I'm listening, and yes, a little bit eavesdropping, to the story you're already living, the one you haven't quite said out loud yet, maybe not even to yourself. My job is to notice it closely, and help you tell it true.
CAMERA IN ONE HAND. PEN IN THE OTHER.
Louisville & Indianapolis Creatives, you have my attention...
What I Do What I Do What I Do What I Do
Founders and creative pros, ready to stop performing a version of themselves. And finally embrace the one they actually are.
Branding
Restaurants, chefs, and beverage brands caught in the moment. True craft first. Always. Now booking late summer and fall in Louisville and Indianapolis
Food, Chef & Culinary
Some of my most honest work happens far from a studio... on the road, off script. A door that is always propped open. Not one I'm pushing.
Travel
VIEW PORTFOLIO
Thirty years of chapters got me here. Every room taught me the same thing: watch first, then create.
WORK
my
Photography found me in 1989: theatre, journalism, and a yearbook advisor who handed me a camera. That curiosity carried me through college, years producing large scale events, and a cake studio built with my own hands.
I moved to Louisville in 2013 with nothing but a passion and the guts to finally chase it. No network. No plan. Just me, a camera, and enough nerve to start over. The business launched in 2017. Still growing with creative businesses. Still true.
It's all on the About page.
I'm a writer first, a photographer second and someone who's rebuilt her career and is obsessed every time.

More About me
And I'm still growing something new, one client at a time. Curious to create together?
The signs were clear: it was time to grow something new, with my camera & pen in my hand.
The camera malfunctioned. Everything got clearer.
